Jones Earns Play Of The Week

by Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche
David Jones' overtime winner in Colorado's season finale was named the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" for the April 8-10 timeframe.

The forward's goal earned 73.44% of the voting, beating out a Jonas Holos hit on Jamie Langenbrunner (15.63%) and a Brandon Yip goal against Dallas (10.93%)

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Voting for the "Play of the Year" begins this coming week.

Jones Caps Things Off – 4/10 vs. Edmonton
David Jones closed out the Avalanche’s season and sent captain Adam Foote out as a winner when he netted an overtime goal against Edmonton. Jones went to his backhand to knock home the rebound of a Matt Duchene shot, setting a new franchise record in the process with his third OT tally of the season.
