Laperriere draped himself over Minnesota’s Keith Carney in the corner, forcing the defenseman to make an errant pass into the right faceoff circle. Ruslan Salei sticks with the play, leading to Andrew Brunette’s first-period goal. Salei had his shot attempt from the left point blocked by Kim Johnnson, but grabbed the rebound and threw a puck at the net which Brunette tipped past Niklas Backstrom at 4:01.
