by - Official Site of the Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche
Forward T.J. Galiardi earned Avalanche "Play of the Week" honors for the Jan. 22-28 time period with his first career short-handed goal on Jan. 24 against Dallas.

Galiardi's tally received 57.92% of fan votes, beating out plays by Craig Anderson (28.96%) and Darcy Tucker (13.12%).

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Galiardi’s Second Effort – 1/24 vs. Dallas
T.J. Galiardi gave the Avs a 2-0 lead over Dallas with the first short-handed goal of his career. After poking the puck away from Dallas defenseman Matt Niskanen just inside the blue line in the Avs’ defensive end, Galiardi raced up the right side before cutting toward the middle on a breakaway. The rookie’s initial attempt was stopped by Marty Turco, but Galiardi knocked home his own rebound.
