Dupuis' Goal Named Play Of The Week

by Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche
Philippe Dupuis' short-handed goal, which doubled as his first career NHL tally, was named the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" after earning 57.94% of fan votes.

Dupuis' goal beat out tallies from Brandon Yip (24.30%) and Kevin Porter (17.76%) to earn the weekly honor.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Dupuis’ Shorty – 11/6 vs. Dallas
Philippe Dupuis’ first NHL goal was a memorable one. With the Avs short-handed in the second period, Dupuis beat Dallas forward Brad Richards to a loose puck near the blue line and went on a 2-on-1 with Kevin Porter. With the passing lane shut down, Dupuis elected to take the shot and beat Andrew Raycroft with a wrister.
