Matt Duchene earned Avalanche "Play of the Week" honors for the Oct. 16-22 timeframe following his first career NHL goal, a tally against the Detroit Red Wings.
Duchene's goal received 45.43% of fan voting, topping a Cody McLeod tally set up by Ryan O'Reilly (32.52%) and a David Jones hit that shattered the glass in Minnesota (22.05%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.
Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
