Nearly 5,000 fans participated in the 2nd annual Puck Drop contest, which launched on the Colorado Avalanche Facebook page on Sept. 19. Over the course of the contest, which ran from Sept. 28 through Oct. 7, entrants were tasked with deciphering clues that led them to each of the 21 hidden physical and virtual pucks. Those who found pucks instantly qualified for the semifinal event. Ten Facebook entries were also randomly selected as semifinalists.
The top five finalists will receive a pair of tickets to Opening Night. All 200 semifinalists will receive a Colorado Avalanche Puck Drop t-shirt.
Hosted by the NHL Colorado Avalanche and Qdoba Mexican Grill, this event is free for public viewing, but only the 200 semifinalists are eligible to participate. D-Mac from Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan will emcee both the semifinal and final events.
