by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced Thursday the acquisition of goaltender Jason Bacashihua from the St. Louis Blues. He was assigned to Lake Erie, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate in Cleveland.

Bacashihua, 25, appeared in four games this season with Peoria (AHL), posting a 3.17 goals against average. He has made 38 career NHL appearances in two seasons with the Blues.

The 5-11, 177-pound native of Garden City, Michigan was originally selected by the Dallas Stars (26th overall) in the 2001 Entry Draft before being acquired by St. Louis in June of 2004.

In exchange for the services of Bacashihua, the Avalanche sent St. Louis a conditional seventh round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft.
