Avalanche fans recognize good goaltending when they see it. For the third straight week, netminder Peter Budaj earned "Play of the Week" honors - this time for his stop on Calgary's Wayne Primeau on Nov. 18.
Budaj's save received 45.54% of the voting, beating out Darcy Tucker's game-tying goal on Nov. 15 against Edmonton (31.02%) and Marek Svatos' tally on Nov. 18 against the Flames (23.43%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.
Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
Budaj's Stop on Primeau - 11/18 at Calgary Peter Budaj made a handful of solid saves during his career-high 47-save performance against the Flames, but this stop on Wayne Primeau may have been the best. During a flurry of action around the crease, Budaj kept his composure and stopped a shot that Primeau batted out of mid-air in front of the crease.
