Boulder Hockey Club Wins Quebec Qualifier

The Boulder Hockey Club Bison won the 2010 Colorado Avalanche Quebec Qualifier Tournament, which concluded Monday night.  Boulder is now designated the Colorado Avalanche Pee Wee team for the 2010-11 season and will represent the Avalanche in the 52nd Quebec International Pee Wee Tournament in February of 2011.


Boulder defeated the University of Denver Jr. Pioneers in the championship game on Monday (Nov. 1) at Pepsi Center.  The Bison scored the game-winning goal with four seconds remaining in the third period to pull out a 2-1 victory. (BOX SCORE)

The Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament is known as the largest and most prestigious Pee Wee tournament in the world. It hosts 110 teams of 11-and 12-year-old hockey players from over 16 countries each year.

The Quebec Qualifier Tournament began play at Westminster Promenade Ice Center on Oct. 28 and then moved to Pepsi Center for the quarterfinal, semifinal and championship.

This is the ninth year the Colorado Avalanche has selected a Pee Wee representative, and the first time that Boulder Hockey Club has earned the title.
