Avalanche prospect Chris Bigras is one of 41 players invited to Hockey Canada's Sumer Development Camp for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Bigras, a member of Canada's 2014 World Junior squad, is one of eight defensemen invited to the Aug. 3-8 camp in Brossard, Montreal and Sherbrooke, Quebec. The summer camp will feature practices and exhibition games against Czech Republic and Russia.
Canada is the host country of the Dec. 26, 2014 to Jan. 5, 2015 World Junior Championship, with games taking place in Montreal and Toronto. Team Canada will determine its final 22-man roster for the tournament at its selection camp in December.
Bigras, 19, had 26 points (four goals, 22 assists) in 55 games last season with Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League. He also had three points (one goal, two assists) in five playoff games with the Attack.
Colorado selected Bigras at No. 32 overall in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft.
