Avs Trade 31st Pick

by Ryan Boulding / Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche kicked off the second day of the 2015 NHL Draft with a trade.

On Friday, the Avalanche received the 31st selection in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres that saw defenseman Nikita Zadorov and forwards Mikhail Grigorenko and J.T. Compher join the organization.

On Saturday, prior to the start of the second round, the Avs traded that 31st pick for the 39th in 2015, a second-round choice in 2016 and a sixth-round selection in 2017. Colorado previously traded the two future picks to San Jose when the club acquired rear guard Brad Stuart last summer.
