DENVER (AP) -- Andrew Brunette and Milan Hejduk
scored power-play goals to lead the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-1 preseason win over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.
Wojtek Wolski added a short-handed goal, and John-Michael Liles had a power-play tally for Colorado, in its exhibition opener. Jose Theodore made 25 saves before Peter Budaj took over in the second period.
Sergei Zubov had a power-play goal for the Stars. Marty Turco stopped 15 of 18 shots before being replaced in the middle frame.
The Avalanche led 3-1 after one period.
Dallas failed a to capitalize on a two-man advantage early in the scoreless second period. Liles made it 4-1 with a power play goal at 6:32 of the third period.
