The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has claimed forward Marc-Andre Cliche off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings and reassigned goaltender Calvin Pickard to the American Hockey League training camp.

The Avalanche’s preseason roster stands at 37.

Cliche, 26, has spent the last four seasons with Los Angeles’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs. The 6-foot, 202-pound center appeared in 57 games for Manchester in 2012-13, tallying 10 goals and 10 assists. A native of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Cliche (pronounced KLEESH) was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round (56th overall) of the 2005 Entry Draft. He appeared in one NHL game for the Kings in 2009-10.
