Recycle The Game Equipment Drive

The Colorado Avalanche is hosting a Recycle the Game equipment drive at Altitude Authentics at Pepsi Center on Friday, May 5, from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
All youth and adult hockey items are accepted and will be cleaned, restored and issued to local hockey associations to support local Try Hockey for Free and Learn to Skate programs.

As an additional incentive to turn in that old gear, everyone who donates will receive a pair of Avalanche SLAP SHOT earphones and can register for a chance to win additional items as a thank you for supporting the Colorado hockey community.
The Avs will also be hosting their annual
game-issued equipment sale
at the same time, offering fans a chance to purchase the gear of their favorite players.
The Avalanche and the majority of Colorado ice rinks host or assist local organizations with hockey equipment drives, keeping the gear out of attics, basements and landfills and getting it back on the ice where it belongs. This initiative helps to improve hockey's environmental footprint while supporting youth hockey, particularly in underserved communities.
