Sheldon Dries Philadelphia Flyers hit check 2018 October 6

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--Tyson Jost has not yet been cleared to play and won't travel with the Colorado Avalanche on the team's two-game road trip in Western Canada.
With Jost staying in Denver, the Avs recalled Sheldon Dries and A.J. Greer on Tuesday afternoon from the American Hockey League's Colorado Eagles.

Dries has played in five AHL games this campaign and has one goal and one assist, while Greer has skated in all eight outings with the Eagles and has a team-high eight points (two goals, six assists).
The two forwards split time on a line with Gabriel Bourque and Marko Dano during Colorado's 45-minute practice session at Family Sports Center on Wednesday before the team headed north of the border to begin its trip at the Calgary Flames.
Head coach Jared Bednar has yet to finalize his lineup for the game at the Flames on Thursday, but a combination of the four forwards will make up a line for the Avs, most likely with Dries in the middle.
"Dries has played center--he has been going center down there in the American League, he's on their top line," said Bednar. "They have been doing a real nice job down there so trying to put him in a spot that he is familiar with and where he can have the most success."
However, Bednar did note that rookie Vladislav Kamenev will center the team's second line with Alex Kerfoot and Colin Wilson on the wings.
"Going to try and give Kammy the best chance to produce offensively with Kerf and Wils there, seem like it might be the best fit right now," Bednar said of putting the trio together. "We are just going to have to see, like I said, we are going to experiment with that."
Semyon Varlamov will be in net in Calgary and Philipp Grubauer is expected to be between the pipes when the trip wraps up at the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.

Quotables

Forward A.J. Greer on joining the Avalanche:"Every time you are here, whether it is in camp or you get called up, it's a special feeling and it's something that you dream about every day. I got my first NHL game, and it was a dream come true. After they sent me down, I kept dreaming about coming back here with the Avalanche and being with this team. I love being here and for me, it is eye opening what hard work can do."

Head Coach Jared Bednar on the importance of every point: "We know it is going to be a struggle right to the end, so every point counts. We break our season down to 10 game segments, and you got to have 12 points every 10 games to make the playoffs. We got 14 in segment one, we got two after two games in segment two, and we still got two games at the end of the year to play with."
