The Avalanche wraps up a five-game homestand on Tuesday night against Buffalo. It's the first of two meetings between the Avs and the Sabres, who will face off in Buffalo on Feb. 11. The teams split last year's season series with each squad winning at home.

Thursday, December 7 at Tampa Bay Lightning

Colorado opens a four-game road trip against the Atlantic Division-leading Lightning on Thursday. Tampa Bay is also tied for first place in the league with 38 points. The Avs were 1-0-1 against the Bolts last season, including a 4-0 win on the road.

Saturday, December 9 at Florida Panthers

The Avalanche continues its road trip with a Saturday night contest against Florida. It's the first of two meetings between the teams, who will square off again less than a week later when the Panthers visit Pepsi Center on Dec. 14.

Monday, December 11 at Pittsburgh Penguins

The Avs and Penguins face off on Monday night. It's the first game of a back-to-back set for Colorado, its seventh of 11 such sets in 2017-18. The Avalanche is 10-4-2 as the road team in the all-time series.

In the Community

On Monday afternoon, defenseman Nikita Zadorov joined 60 kids from Special Olympics Colorado for a floor hockey clinic. Samuel Girard skated with kids from the Playworks Floor Hockey League as part of the Avs' Break the Ice Program.

Player Spotlight

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon was named the NHL's first star for the month of November. MacKinnon finished the month with 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 12 November games, a career high for a single month. He led all NHL players with 15 assists and was tied for first with two overtime tallies. This is MacKinnon's first NHL three stars of the month honor and just the fifth time the Avalanche has had a player named to the NHL's "Three Stars" of the month.
