ON THE KILL:The Avalanche is currently on a streak of 16 consecutive penalty kills, a season high and longest streak for the Avs since the 2015-16 season (25 consecutive kills, Feb. 24-March 12). Colorado's penalty kill is 50-for-54 at home (92.6%), the third-best home penalty kill in the league.

Colorado plays its last game before the NHL's holiday break on Saturday, taking on the Arizona Coyotes in Glendale. The teams will meet again less than a week later when the Coyotes travel to Pepsi Center on Dec. 27.

Colorado Avalanche players, coaches, mascot Bernie and the Ice Girls made their annual visit to a local hospital on Friday, delivering toys, autographs and holiday spirit to pediatric patients and their families. The Avs Better Halves also hosted their annual holiday tree auction, raising more than $28,000 for Kroenke Sports Charities.

Player Spotlight: Tyson Barrie

Barrie is on a three-game point streak (2g, 4a) and his 27 points (4g, 23a) are tied for first among NHL defensemen in scoring. He matched a career high with two goals in Monday's contest against Pittsburgh, the fifth time the defenseman has scored twice in a game in his career and the first multi-goal game for any Avalanche defenseman since Barrie's last two-goal outing on Feb. 20, 2016 at Edmonton.
