Player Spotlight: Mikko Rantanen

Rantanen has registered at least a point in his last 11 games (5g, 14a), tied with Washington's Alexander Ovechkin for the longest active streak in the NHL. He continues to lead the league in scoring with 48 points (12g, 36a) and has held at least a share of the scoring lead since Oct. 23. Rantanen has been the outright leader for 44 of those 50 days. Rantanen's 48 points is the second-highest total through 30 games in Avalanche history behind only Peter Forsberg, who had 53 points through 30 contests in 1995-96.

Quotable

"We have been on the road a lot. It seems like we haven't really slept in our own beds here this last month and a half. It will be nice to go back to the Pepsi Center in front of our own fans." - Avalanche forward Tyson Jost, as Colorado returns to Denver following four-game road trip
