Avs Begin Prospect Showcase Against Host Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif.--The Colorado Avalanche opens the Prospect Showcase on Saturday with a meeting against the host San Jose Sharks at Solar4America Ice.
Game time is set for 5 p.m. MT, and the contest will be
streamed live online.

Colorado is the defending champions of the rookie tournament after defeating both the Sharks and Ducks at last year's event. The Avalanche hosted the inaugural showcase at the Ice Centre at the Promenade in Westminster, Colorado.
At the 2016 event, the Avs beat the Sharks 4-1 on Sept. 17 with Chris Bigras, J.T. Compher, A.J. Greer and Nikita Zadorov picking up tallies. Bigras, Compher and Greer are on this year's squad as well and are three of the six Colorado players that have NHL experience.
Tyson Jost, Anton Lindholm and Spencer Martin made their pro debuts with the Avalanche at various points last season.
