Hunter Miska Los Angeles Kings 2021 January 21

Hunter Miska will get the start in goal this evening when the Colorado Avalanche hosts the Anaheim Ducks at Ball Arena.
The 25-year-old goaltender last played on March 6 against the Ducks and made 22 saves in Colorado's 5-4 overtime loss. He owns a 1-1-2 record so far this season with a 3.50 goals-against average and .865 save percentage.
Miska will be backed up by Philipp Grubauer, who was named the league's First Star of the Week on Monday after posting a 3-1-0 record while playing in all four games last week.

Forward J.T. Compher and defensemen Bowen Byram and Cale Makar were all full participants at morning skate, and Compher and Byram could return to the lineup on Thursday when the Avs host the Minnesota Wild.
Compher has missed five games with an upper-body injury while Byram has been out for eight contests so far this year. Makar is "close," but head coach Jared Bednar did not have a firm timeline on his return.
The Avs reassigned defenseman Dennis Gilbert to the American Hockey League's Colorado Eagles on Monday. Gilbert had been rehabbing after having surgery to help correct an upper-body injury that he suffered at the Vegas Golden Knights on Feb. 16.
This evening's contest is the sixth outing of a nine-game homestand for Colorado and is also the fifth of eight meetings overall this season between the Avalanche and Ducks. The clubs completed a back-to-back earlier in the homestay on March 5-6, and the Avs are 2-1-1 against Anaheim so far this year.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup. All forward combinations and defensive pairings are subject to change.
