Gabriel Landeskog Arizona Coyotes 2018 December 22

Gabriel Landeskog will be back in the Colorado Avalanche lineup tonight when it hosts the Arizona Coyotes at Pepsi Center.
The Colorado captain has missed the team's last nine games with an upper-body injury that he sustained at the Dallas Stars on March 7 after he was involved in a collision with Stars goaltender Ben Bishop along the end boards.
Landeskog is third on the team in scoring, setting career highs this season with 33 goals and 69 points (33 goals, 36 assists), and leads the NHL with nine game-winning goals (tied) in 68 games played.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar noted that Landeskog will be on a trio with Carl Soderberg and Colin Wilson, while his line of Alexander Kerfoot, Nathan MacKinnon and J.T. Compher will stay together. Bednar did not say which forward will be scratched.
Philipp Grubauer was the first goalie off the ice from morning skate and is expected to start in net for the Avalanche for the seventh consecutive outing. In his last six starts, he has posted a 5-0-1 record with a 1.49 goals-against average and .958 save percentage.
The contest marks the third and final time that Colorado and Arizona will meet this year, and the Coyotes' only trip to Denver this season. The clubs split the first two matchups in Glendale.
Below is Colorado's projected lineup based on the forward combinations and defensive pairings in the last game on Wednesday against the Vegas Golden Knights, with the addition of Landeskog. They are all subject to change.
