Colorado Avalanche Alexander Kerfoot High Fives Bench

Forward Alexander Kerfoot will make his return to the Colorado Avalanche lineup for tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens, head coach Jared Bednar confirmed following the club's optional morning skate.

Kerfoot, who has missed the past four games with an upper-body injury, will begin the outing on the team's fourth line with Gabriel Bourque and Colin Wilson. He last played on Dec. 8 at the Tampa Bay Lightning, but his ailment was bugging him before that.
"It was kind of just lingering a little bit before that, and when we got back from the road trip it kind of got a little worse," Kerfoot said following Tuesday's practice, his first full contact session. "I just wanted to be cautious with it, and everything feels good now."
Sheldon Dries is expected to be the Avs' lone healthy scratch.
The rest of the Avalanche's lineup should be the same as it was from Monday's contest against the New York Islanders.
Colorado goaltender Philipp Grubauer will play in his 14th game and make his 12th start of the season this evening. He is 7-0-3 in his last 10 starts.
The Avalanche's matchup with the Canadiens will have an earlier start time than usual with the game set to begin at 6:30 p.m. MT.
