Avalanche & The Home Front Cares

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche

At the beginning of each season the Avalanche holds its annual Burgundy/White Game. The Burgundy/White Game features all Avalanche players competing in a three-period, intra-squad scrimmage.

For the third consecutive season, this year's game was held at Cadet Ice Arena on the grounds of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. A portion of the proceeds from the Burgundy/White Game benefit military families served by The Home Front Cares.

Prior to the Avalanche's Nov. 8 game against the Edmonton Oilers, Avalanche assistant captain Paul Stastny presented a $10,000 check to The Home Front Cares. Accepting the donation were retired Air Force Major General Bentley Rayburn and U.S. Army Specialists Brandon Burke and Nicholas Orchowski.
