The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced its preseason and regular season schedules for the 2007-2008 NHL campaign. Colorado will open the regular season at home against the Dallas Stars on Oct. 3.
The 2007-08 slate includes a visit from MVP Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 1 at Pepsi Center, which headlines an Eastern Conference schedule of opponents that features the Philadelphia Flyers (Dec. 7), New York Rangers (Dec. 21), New York Islanders (Jan. 5) and New Jersey Devils (March 15). Colorado’s home schedule features 20 weekend contests among its 41 dates at Pepsi Center.
The Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks will visit the Mile High City on Feb. 12 and again on March 6.
Colorado will play the Southeast Division on the road this year, traveling to Washington (Jan. 9), Carolina (Jan. 12), Florida (Jan. 13), Tampa Bay (Jan. 15) and Atlanta (March 11).
Colorado’s two longest home-stands include five-game stretches from October 28-November 7 and January 18-30. The Avalanche also has a pair of five-game road trips, the longest of the season from January 8-15 and February 20-27. The team is scheduled to play seven back-to-back sets.
The complete broadcast schedule, including Altitude Sports and Entertainment telecasts, and information regarding the on-sale dates for preseason and regular season tickets will be released in the near future.
