Avalanche Recalls Weiman

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has recalled goaltender Tyler Weiman from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League. Weiman will be available for tonight’s game in Pittsburgh against the Penguins (5:30 p.m. MT, Altitude TV).

Weiman, 25, has appeared in 15 games for the Monsters this season, posting a 6-8-1 record with a 2.41 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.

Colorado’s sixth selection (fifth round, 164th overall) in the 2002 Entry Draft, Weiman led the AHL with eight shutouts in 44 games with Lake Erie in 2008-09.  He has appeared in one NHL game during his career, stopping all 10 shots he faced in relief on Oct. 4, 2007 at Nashville.

The Avalanche also announced today that the club has reassigned forward Brian Willsie to Lake Erie.
