Avalanche Recalls MacKenzie

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced Saturday that the team has recalled defenseman Aaron MacKenzie from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.  MacKenzie is expected to make his NHL debut Sunday night in Vancouver against the Canucks (8:00 p.m. MT, Altitude TV).

MacKenzie, 28, was recalled earlier this season on Nov. 29 but did not appear in a game before being reassigned on Nov. 30.  The former University of Denver defenseman has skated in 52 games for the Monsters this season, tallying 12 points (3g/9a).  MacKenzie signed with Colorado as a free agent on July 14, 2008.

The Terrace Bay, Ontario native would become the 10th Colorado player to make his NHL debut this year, the most in a single season in Avalanche history.

In addition, the club also announced that it has reassigned defenseman Wes O’Neill to Lake Erie.
