Avalanche Recalls MacKenzie

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that defenseman Aaron MacKenzie has been recalled from the Lake Erie Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate.

This is MacKenzie’s first NHL call-up after compiling six points in 16 games played (3g/3a) with the Monsters. He signed with the Avalanche as a free agent last July.

The 6-0, 193-pound University of Denver graduate appeared in 173 games with Peoria (AHL) over the last three seasons. Prior to that, MacKenzie played in 141 games with Worcester (AHL). He originally signed with the St. Louis Blues as a free agent on June 29, 2004.

In a related move, the Avalanche placed defenseman Adam Foote on injured reserve (upper back/knee) retroactive to November 22.
