Avalanche Recalls Guite

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced Wednesday that it has recalled forward Ben Guite from its American Hockey League affiliate in Albany.

Guite, 28, currently ranks second on the River Rats in scoring with 25 points (8g/17a) in 33 games played. He arrives in Colorado having registered points in 12 of his last 13 games (5g/12a), including a career-best eight-game point streak (Dec. 1-22 4g/6a).

Guite (GEE-tay) played at the University of Maine for four seasons (1996-2000) and was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1997 Entry Draft (8th selection, 172nd overall). He was signed by the Avalanche as a free agent last July.

In a related move, the Avalanche reassigned forward Brad Richardson to Albany.
