Home-Ice Advantage
During the regular season, the Avalanche owned an impressive 28-11-2 record at Pepsi Center, with only five teams having more wins on their respective home ice. That advantage is something that has been reflected in playoffs past for Colorado as well. Since the club moved to Denver in 1996, the Avalanche has played in 92 postseason contests on home ice, going 55-37 in that span. And since the Avs began calling Pepsi Center home in 1999, there has been 68 contests played within its confines, with Colorado having a 38-30 edge.
Special Teams
Thus far, Colorado and Nashville's special-teams units have been almost even in the series. In Game 2, both the Avs and Preds' respective man-advantage groups went 1-for-5. Nashville cashed in on a power-play opportunity in Game 1 and has a slight 2-for-7 advantage in the series, while Colorado is 1-for-8. During the regular season, the Avs tallied 65 power-play goals, third-most in the NHL and owned the league's eighth-best unit (21.9 percent) and fourth-best penalty kill (83.3 percent). Nashville had the 12th-ranked power play (tied-21.2 percent) and sixth-best penalty kill (81.9 percent).
