Anderson Robs Thornton – 10/30 @ San Jose
Craig Anderson came up with this big first-period save on San Jose’s Joe Thornton to keep the game scoreless. With the Sharks on a power play, Dany Heatley made a quick pass to Thornton, who was situated to Anderson’s left. The center threw a hard wrister at the net, but Anderson quickly moved across his crease and made a strong glove save.

Duchene’s Shorty – 10/30 @ San Jose
With the Avs trailing the Sharks 2-0 in the third period, Matt Duchene netted this short-handed goal. First, David Jones and Adam Foote teamed up to cause a Patrick Marleau turnover, which led to Foote clearing the puck to the blue line. From there, Duchene picked it up and raced up the ice, going one-on-one with defenseman Dan Boyle. Duchene got a shot off that was stopped by Evgeni Nabokov, but the rookie ducked in between Boyle and Rob Blake and knocked home the rebound for his second career NHL goal.

Svatos’ Hustle Play – 11/4 vs. Phoenix
Marek Svatos scored the eventual game-winning goal against the Coyotes by using his speed to get into scoring position. Paul Stastny carried the puck up the left wing and threw a pass to Svatos, who was cutting hard toward the net. The pass actually got all the way to Coyotes netminder Ilya Bryzgalov, but Svatos jumped all over the rebound, depositing it under Bryzgalov’s right arm.
