We’ve offered up three choices, and now it's your turn to choose the top play by voting on the poll below or on the homepage of ColoradoAvalanche.com. At the end of the season, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine – once again, through fan voting – the Avalanche’s “Play of the Year”.
Check out this week’s three nominees, and be sure to vote for your favorite by Monday at 12:30 p.m. MT.
Jones Makes Moves - 11/29 vs. Tampa Bay After Cody McCormick got his stick on a clearing attempt by Tampa Bay netminder Mike Smith, Avs forward David Jones capitalized on the opportunity. Corralling the puck in the slot, Jones made a pair of nice moves – one around a Lightning defender and the other around Smith – to notch his second goal of the year.
Smyth, Stastny Team Up - 12/1 @ Minnesota Ryan Smyth set up Paul Stastny’s second goal of the game against Minnesota with a strong individual effort. Smyth streaked up the right wing and took the puck toward the goal with a nifty toe-drag. Wild netminder Niklas Backstrom stopped Smyth’s attempt, but Paul Stastny crashed the net and was rewarded with his sixth tally of the season.
Wolski's Shorty- 12/4 @ Nashville Wojtek Wolski notched the Avalanche’s first short-handed goal of the season against the Predators. After Cody McCormick intercepted a Nashville pass, he fed the puck to Wolski in the slot. From there, Wolski chipped the puck past Pekka Rinne’s glove hand for his fifth goal of the year.
