Avalanche Play of the Week - Nov. 21-27

by - Official Site of the Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche is offering fans a new way to get in the game this year. Your voice will be heard in selecting Colorado’s “Play of the Week” each week during the season.

We’ll offer up three choices, and you choose the top play by voting on the poll below or on the homepage of At the end of the season, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine – once again, through fan voting – the Avalanche’s “Play of the Year”.

Check out this week’s three nominees, and be sure to vote for your favorite by Monday at 12:00 p.m. MT.

Svatos' Shootout Winner- 11/22 @ Los Angeles
On Colorado’s first shootout attempt against the Kings, Svatos made a nice move against netminder Erik Ersberg before tucking a low backhand attempt between his legs. The goal helped to give the Avs their 8th straight shootout victory.


Laperriere Tips One Home - 11/24 at Anaheim
Ian Laperriere notched a third-period goal – his second tally of the season – Monday against the Anaheim Ducks. John-Michael Liles fired a shot from the point, and Laperriere was able to get his stick on it and tip it past Jean-Sebastien Giguere.


Smyth's Winner vs. Blues - 11/26 vs. St. Louis

Parked in front of the net on the power play, Ryan Smyth tipped home a Jordan Leopold point shot in the second period. The goal proved to be the difference in Colorado’s 3-1 victory over the Blues.
