Stastny’s Stick Work – 11/12 vs. Columbus
started this play with some nice stick work and then finished it himself. Stastny first knocked down a Columbus clearing attempt to keep the play in the Avalanche’s offensive zone, where Kevin Porter
quickly picked it up. Porter then sent a feed down to the bottom of the right circle to Chris Stewart, who quickly set up Stastny with a nice centering pass. Stewart Gets It Started – 11/17 vs. San Jose
Chris Stewart started the Avalanche’s third-period rally against the Sharks with this tally. Colorado trailed San Jose by a 3-1 count when John-Michael Liles made a pinpoint lead pass to Stewart just outside of the blue line. From there, Stewart turned on the jets and got around Sharks defenseman Mike Moore before putting a shot past Antero Niittymaki to bring the Avalanche within a goal. Porter Wins It – 11/17 vs. San Jose
capped off the Avalanche’s comeback against San Jose with this overtime goal. After breaking free from Sharks defenseman Kent Huskins during the extra session, Porter raced in on a semi-breakaway and beat Antero Niittymaki with a low shot even though he was being hauled down to the ice.
