Holos Hits Reddox – 3/5 vs. Edmonton
Late in the first period of the Avalanche/Oilers tilt, defenseman Jonas Holos
threw a hit on Edmonton’s Liam Reddox. Reddox flew up the right wing and put a backhand attempt on net when Holos bumped him, sending Reddox (partially due to his momentum) hard into the end boards. Porter Hits Camera – 3/8 @ Minnesota
On a strange play, forward Kevin Porter
corralled a rebound of a Ryan Wilson
attempt and put a shot on goal that initially appeared to have either hit the post or been stopped somehow by Minnesota goalie Niklas Backstrom. The action continued for nearly three minutes until the next whistle, at which point the play was reviewed and it was determined that Porter’s shot had actually gone into the net for a good goal, bouncing out after hitting the in-goal camera.
Budaj Flashes His Glove – 3/8 @ Minnesota
Colorado and Minnesota were tied at 1-1 and the Avs were on a power play when Wild forward John Madden skated the puck over the blue line and unleashed a big slap shot from the top of the left circle. Avalanche netminder Peter Budaj was up to the task, quickly snagging Madden’s attempt with his glove.
