Hejduk Breaks Free – 1/31 vs. Anaheim
Milan Hejduk notched his 18th goal of the season against the Anaheim Ducks – a tally that came with the Avalanche short-handed. The forward stole the puck from Ducks defenseman Bret Hedican and streaked in all alone before beating Jonas Hiller low stick side. The short-handed tally was the sixth of Hejduk’s career and his 303rd goal overall.

Svatos Gets Past Phaneuf – 2/2 vs. Calgary
Marek Svatos scored his second goal of the game against Calgary, showing off his speed and knack for finding open areas on the ice. With Cody McLeod streaking up the left wing, Svatos hopped around defenseman Dion Phaneuf to get inside position and knocked home a feed from his linemate after barreling toward the net.

Salei Upends Robidas – 2/5 vs. Dallas
The Avalanche’s physical play was a determining factor in the club’s 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars. Ruslan Salei’s hit on defenseman Stephane Robidas was just one example of that. With Robidas carrying the puck down the right wing, Salei put a big hip check on the Dallas All-Star to send him airborne.
