Duchene Goes 1-on-3 – 1/29 @ Dallas Matt Duchene’s vast skill set was on full display on this play against the Dallas Stars. Duchene gathered the puck and turned on the jets, weaving through three Dallas defenders before beating Alex Auld blocker side.
Stastny Sets Up Quincey – 2/2/ vs. Columbus Paul Stastny showed off his vision and patience while setting up this goal by Kyle Quincey. The Avs were trailing Columbus, 1-0, late in the first period when Stastny found himself with the puck near the right faceoff circle. After spotting Quincey open near the goal crease, Stastny waited an extra half second before firing a cross-ice pass to the defenseman for the tally.
O’Reilly A Little Short – 2/2 vs. Columbus Avalanche rookie Ryan O’Reilly pulled off a rare feat, scoring two short-handed goals against the Columbus Blue Jackets during a four-minute double-minor penalty to Paul Stastny. On this play, the first of O’Reilly’s short-handed efforts, the rookie took a feed from T.J. Galiardi at the blue line and cut to the net before firing a perfectly placed shot past Mathieu Garon.
