Porter Sets Up Hejduk – 2/3 vs. Minnesota
made a nice passing play to draw the primary assist on Milan Hejduk
’s first of two goals against the Wild. During a 2-on-1 rush, Porter threaded a feed by Minnesota defenseman Nick Schultz over to Hejduk, who deposited the puck past the outstretched left pad of Jose Theodore. Hejduk Buries Another – 2/3 vs. Minnesota
scored his second goal of the night against Minnesota just 45 seconds into the third period. After Adam Foote held the puck in the zone at the blue line and fired a shot wide, Chris Stewart corralled the rebound and sent a pass over to Hejduk, who put a wrister into the back of the net. The Wild had already jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Avalanche just 1:01 into the game, and it could have quickly been a three-goal contest if not for Craig Anderson. Seconds after Minnesota’s second goal, Wild forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard slipped behind the Avalanche defense and skated in on a breakaway, but his attempt was turned aside by Anderson.
