Let your voice be heard in selecting Colorado’s “Play of the Week” each week during the season.
A stop by Andrew Raycroft against San Jose and goals from Milan Hejduk and John-Michael Liles versus Toronto are this week's nominees.
We’ve offered up three choices, and now it's your turn to choose the top play by voting on the poll below or on the homepage of ColoradoAvalanche.com. At the end of the season, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine – once again, through fan voting – the Avalanche’s “Play of the Year”.
Check out this week’s three nominees, and be sure to vote for your favorite by Monday at 12:00 p.m. MT.
Raycroft Stops Setoguchi – 1/27 vs. San Jose Goaltender Andrew Raycroft kept the Avs in the game against San Jose with a 35-save performance. This stop on Devin Setoguchi, which came after the Sharks forward fired a wrister from the right faceoff circle, might have been Raycroft’s biggest save of the evening.
Hejduk’s Wraparound – 1/29 vs. Toronto Milan Hejduk scored his 17th goal of the year on a hustle play against the Maple Leafs. Wojtek Wolski chipped the puck into Toronto’s zone and Hejduk beat the Toronto defense to the puck before curling behind the net and tucking one past Vesa Toskala.
Liles Blasts One Home – 1/29 vs. Toronto John-Michael Liles’ third-period goal tied the Avalanche and Maple Leafs at 4-4. Leafs defenseman Jeff Finger first blocked a Ruslan Salei shot and then made a clearing attempt, which ended up right on Liles’ stick. From there, the Colorado blueliner teed up a shot from the top of the right circle that beat Toskala.
