Avalanche Play Of The Week: Feb. 25-March 3

by Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche is again asking for your help in determining the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" each week during the regular season. At the end of the year, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine, via fan voting, the Avalanche's "Play of the Year."

David Jones, Matt Duchene and Brian Elliott are this week's nominees.

Voting ends on Monday, March 7 at 3:00 p.m. MT, so be sure to cast your ballot today!

Jones’ One-Timer – 2/26 @ Los Angeles
The Avs found themselves down by four goals to the Kings, but began a comeback attempt that started with this tally. With Colorado on a five-on-three power play, John-Michael Liles slid a pass through the Los Angeles defense over to David Jones, who one-timed it past Kings goalie Jonathan Quick.

A Soft Touch – 2/27 @ Anaheim
Matt Duchene used his speed and soft touch to set up a Kevin Porter goal against Anaheim. Duchene was the first to catch up with the puck in the right corner following a Jonas Holos dump-in. The Avalanche center then made a quick touch pass over to Porter, who deposited it behind Anaheim goalie Dan Ellis.

Elliott Stops Setoguchi – 3/1 @ Los Angeles
The Avalanche and Sharks were scoreless nearly six minutes into the second period, and Avalanche goalie Brian Elliott made sure it stayed that way by denying Devin Setoguchi. The Sharks forward raced up the ice and worked a quick give-and-go with Logan Couture before getting behind Colorado’s defense, but Elliott got enough of Setoguchi’s low shot to send the puck harmlessly into the corner.
