Let your voice be heard in selecting Colorado’s “Play of the Week” each week during the season.
Tallies by Adam Foote (Feb. 20 @ Washington), Wojtek Wolski (Feb. 22 @ Carolina) and Milan Hejduk (Feb. 24 @ Atlanta) are this week's nominees.
We’ve offered up three choices, and now it's your turn to choose the top play by voting on the poll below or on the homepage of ColoradoAvalanche.com. At the end of the season, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine – once again, through fan voting – the Avalanche’s “Play of the Year”.
Check out this week’s three nominees, and be sure to vote for your favorite by Monday at 12:00 p.m. MT.
Foote Finds Opening – 2/20 @ Washington Adam Foote’s first tally of the season held up as the game-winning goal in Colorado’s 4-1 triumph over the Capitals. As Milan Hejduk controlled the puck behind the net, Foote cut in and took a feed that he chipped over the right shoulder of goaltender Jose Theodore.
Wolski Beats Ward – 2/22 @ Carolina Wojtek Wolski stole a breakout pass from Carolina’s Dennis Seidenberg and then put forth a strong individual effort to notch his 14th goal of the season. The center skated toward the end boards before cutting back and putting a well-placed shot past Cam Ward from a tough angle.
Stastny Sets Up Hejduk – 2/24 @ Atlanta Paul Stastny, making his return to the lineup after a 26-game layoff due to a broken forearm, set up the first of two Milan Hejduk tallies against the Thrashers. With the Avalanche on a power play, Stastny made a pass across the crease to Hejduk, who buried his 22nd goal of the season.
