Let your voice be heard in selecting Colorado’s “Play of the Week” each week during the season.
Goals from Ian Laperriere and Jordan Leopold against the Detroit Red Wings (Feb. 15) and an overtime tally by Wojtek Wolski against the Ottawa Senators (Feb. 17) are this week's nominees.
We’ve offered up three choices, and now it's your turn to choose the top play by voting on the poll below or on the homepage of ColoradoAvalanche.com. At the end of the season, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine – once again, through fan voting – the Avalanche’s “Play of the Year”.
Check out this week’s three nominees, and be sure to vote for your favorite by Monday at 12:00 p.m. MT.
Lappy’s Quick Tally – 2/15 @ Detroit Ian Laperriere opened the scoring in Colorado’s 6-5 win over Detroit just 16 seconds into the game. It came after Brian Rafalski overskated the puck where Chris Osgood left it for him at the side of the net. Cody McCormick picked up the loose puck and passed it in front to Laperriere, who buried his sixth goal of the season.
Leo’s Shootout Winner – 2/15 @ Detroit Making his first career shootout attempt, Avalanche defenseman Jordan Leopold put a wrister past Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood in the fifth round of the shootout to give the Avalanche a 6-5 win in Detroit.
Wolski Sends Sens Packing – 2/17 vs. Ottawa Wojtek Wolski’s goal 80 seconds into overtime gave the Avs a 3-2 win over the visiting Senators. Wolski shot a puck from the blue line which was stopped by Ottawa netminder Alex Auld. However, it caromed right back to a charging Wolski, who knocked it in for his 12th goal of the season.
