Anderson Doubles Up – 4/14 @ San Jose
No matter how hard he tried, Devin Setoguchi could not solve Craig Anderson in Game 1. Anderson had just denied the Sharks forward and covered the puck on the previous play, but Setoguchi was presented with two more scoring chances just seconds later. Anderson first stopped Setoguchi’s wrister from the slot and then smothered the forward’s follow-up attempt to keep the game scoreless in the first period.

Liles Opens Scoring – 4/14 @ San Jose
John-Michael Liles scored Colorado’s first goal of the 2010 playoffs, giving the Avalanche a 1-0 lead over the Sharks in the process. On the power play, Matt Duchene made a savvy play by cutting into the right faceoff circle and buying some time before giving the puck to Liles at the right point. From there, the defenseman blasted a shot through a Chris Stewart screen and past Evgeni Nabokov for his fourth career playoff tally.

Stewart Gets A Bounce – 4/14 @ San Jose
Being both good and a little lucky is a dangerous combination for the opposition. With the Sharks and Avs tied at 1-1 late in the third period, the T.J. Galiardi-Paul Stastny-Chris Stewart line had a great shift cycling the puck deep in San Jose’s zone. It ended with 49.3 seconds left when Stewart threw the puck at the goal from the right corner and it caromed off Rob Blake’s skate and into the net to give the Avalanche a 2-1 victory.
