Plays by T.J. Galiardi, Peter Budaj and Chris Stewart are this week's nominees.
We’ve offered up three choices, and now it's your turn to choose the top play by voting on the poll below or on the homepage of ColoradoAvalanche.com. At the end of the season, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine – once again, through fan voting – the Avalanche’s “Play of the Year”.
Check out this week’s three nominees, and be sure to vote for your favorite by Monday at 12:00 p.m. MT. Galiardi’s Blast – 4/5 @ Vancouver
This tally represented the first of T.J. Galiardi’s two goals in a 4-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. On a delayed penalty against the Canucks, Galiardi one-time a hard shot from the slot over Roberto Luongo’s glove for his second career NHL goal.Budaj Robs Roenick – 4/7 @ San Jose
With just under a minute remaining in regulation and the game still scoreless, Peter Budaj made a big stop on San Jose’s Jeremy Roenick. On a Sharks’ power play, Roenick found himself all alone in front of the Colorado goal. However, Budaj was able to stop the point-blank attempt to send the game to overtime.
Stewart’s Swift Tip – 4/9 vs. Dallas
The Avs and Stars were still scoreless nearly 33 minutes into their contest when Chris Stewart tipped home the first power-play goal of his career. After Cody McLeod
missed on a one-timer in front of the net, the puck bounced out to Ray Macias at the top of the right circle. As Macias rifled a shot toward the net, Stewart stepped in front of Dallas goalie Matt Climie and knocked in his 11th goal of the campaign.
