Anderson Springs Stewart – 4/16 @ San Jose
The Avalanche took advantage of a strange bounce to take a 2-1 lead early in the second period of Game Two. The Sharks won a faceoff just outside Colorado’s blue line, and San Jose defenseman Douglas Murray fired a shot into the zone that wrapped around behind Craig Anderson’s net. The puck took a strange bounce off the half wall and came back into the slot, where Anderson moved in and threw a stretch pass up-ice to Chris Stewart. The sophomore forward took over from there, beating Evgeni Nabokov on a breakaway 24 seconds into the middle frame.

One Of Many For Andy – 4/18 vs. San Jose
Craig Anderson put on a goaltending clinic in Game Three against San Jose, stopping all 51 shots he faced in Colorado’s 1-0 overtime victory. Here, Anderson first turned away a Ryane Clowe wrister and then kept his cool with a mad scramble in front of him, which included a Clowe follow-up attempt.

O’Reilly’s Deflection – 4/18 vs. San Jose
After over 60 minutes of scoreless play, Game Three ended in odd fashion. Avalanche rookie Ryan O’Reilly was aggressively forechecking as Sharks blueliner Douglas Murray left a pass for his defensive partner Dan Boyle. Boyle tried to throw the puck back into a safe area behind his own net, but O’Reilly reached out his stick and got just enough of the puck to send it toward the San Jose goal. There, it slipped by an unsuspecting Evgeni Nabokov to give Colorado a 1-0 win.
