The Colorado Avalanche faced the New York Islanders the for the second time this season, first time on the road. Logan O'Connor played in his 100th NHL game.

08:59 NYI (1-0) - PPGAfter a failed clearing attempt from the Avalanche, Noah Dobson pick up the puck at the point and made a quick shot pass down to the high slot to Anders Lee who redirected the puck passed Franocuz.
14:18 COL (1-1) - PPGNathan MacKinnon stripped the puck from an Islanders forward trying to push it out of the zone and made a quick turn and pass to Nazem Kadri who found Cale Makar at the point for a quick pivot and wrist shot off the post and in passed Semyon Varlamov.

4: 06 COL (2-1) MacKinnon picked up the puck out of a scramble and circled back for a pass to Cale Makar which went off of a defenseman to Gabriel Landeskog and back up to MacKinnon who one-timed the puck through traffic and in.
6:34 COL (3-1) Logan O'Connor chased a puck into the corner to be cut off by an Islanders defender which forced the puck out toward the trapezoid to Alex Newhook who made a quick centering pass who made a falling one-timer top shelf.
7:41 COL (4-1) Off of an offensive zone faceoff, Mikko Rantanen picked up the puck skating toward the blue line and made a quick turnaround shot that was stopped by Andre Burakovsky in the slot and bumped to MacKinnon who quickly opened up and found Makar back door for a tap in goal.
8:27 COL (5-1) After a turnover forced by Valeri Nichushkin, Nazem Kadri made a quick pass over to Landeskog who saw Devon Toews streaking in from the point all alone for a wrist shot passed the blocker of Varlamov.
11:58 NYI (5-2) PPG After a couple attempts of entering the zone, Noah Dobson caught a cross ice pass and carried it down the boards for a drop pass to Jean-Gabriel Pageau who found Anders Lee backdoor for a quick backhand move around Francouz.
13:28 NYI (5-3) Regrouping the puck, the Islanders' Ryan Pulock dumped the puck in around behind the Avs net to be picked up by Kyle Palmieri who made a move through some Avs defenders for a quick shot off the post and under Francouz and quickly buried by Casey Cizikas.
19:33 NYI (5-4) After losing an in the zone faceoff, the Avalanche made some quick attempted to chop the puck out of the zone but was ultimately pushed to the point by Anders Lee to Brock Nelson who made a quick slapshot through traffic and over the shoulder of Francouz.
