Avalanche Inline Summer Shootout

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
For the first time in Pepsi Center history, inline hockey players of all ages took to the floor inside the arena as they competed in the Inaugural Avalanche Inline Summer Shootout, held Aug. 28-30.

Seven champions were crowned this past weekend at the Inaugural Avalanche Inline Summer Shootout
The tournament, hosted by the Colorado Avalanche in partnership with the Colorado Roller Hockey Association, provided the opportunity for 40 teams to compete on the floor at Pepsi Center in seven divisions, including: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, and Adult.

The event experienced vast interest from inline hockey teams and organizations throughout Colorado, as it reached its 40-team capacity a week before the tournament. Each team played a minimum of three games and each player received a ticket to the Colorado Avalanche’s Oct. 3, 2009 contest against the Vancouver Canucks as part of their player packet.

The Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Roller Hockey Association would like to congratulate the champions from the tournament:

U8 –      Valken Colorado Kodiaks
U10 -     Valken Colorado Kodiaks 98's
U12 -     Valken Colorado Kodiaks
U14 -     OD’s Daredevils
U16 -     Dragons
U18 -     Colorado Panthers
Adult -    Woung Gwasshopperz
