Avalanche Honors Mike Ricci

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
Former Avalanche player Mike Ricci was honored by the Avalanche Alumni Association this evening prior to the Avs’ game against the Edmonton Oilers.

Ricci posted 228 points (91g/137a) in 339 contests with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche franchise and was a member of Colorado’s 1996 Stanley Cup championship team.

The ceremony included a highlight video and team-presented painting by renowned artist Stephen Holland. All fans in attendance witnessed a ceremonial puck drop by Ricci and received a replica copy of the painting.

The next and final Avalanche Alumni Night of the 2009-10 season will be March 1 against the Detroit Red Wings when former forward Valeri Kamensky’s career will be highlighted.
