Carl Soderberg Vegas Golden Knights preseason 2017 September 19

The Colorado Avalanche begins its 2018-19 preseason schedule on Tuesday as the team battles the Vegas Golden Knights at Pepsi Center at 7 p.m. MT.
Goaltender Semyon Varlamov will get the start in net and will split time with fellow netminder Spencer Martin, who will likely play the third period.

The contest marks the club's first of six exhibition showings before the 2018-19 season officially begins. After the contest against Vegas, Colorado will play two on the road and two at home before rounding out the preseason in Dallas. The team will take on Vegas, the Minnesota Wild, and the Dallas Stars twice.
Head coach Jared Bednar said the Gabriel Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen line will play on Tuesday in a lineup that features a mix between veterans and young players.
"MacK's line is going to play tomorrow, the (J.T.) Compher line from today--him, (Matt) Calvert, (Logan) O'Connor," Bednar said after practice on Monday. "[Semyon Varlamov] is in net. I think we have (Tyson) Barrie, [Erik Johnson] and (Ian) Cole all in on the backend, and there will be a lot of young kids playing."
This will be the Golden Knights' second game of the preseason after defeating the Arizona Coyotes by a 7-2 score on Sunday. Eight players on the Vegas squad had multi-point nights while goaltender Dylan Ferguson stopped 25-of-27 shots faced in net.
The game will be televised locally on Altitude, with the pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m. MT. NHL Network will also have national coverage of the contest out of market. In addition to Tuesday's contest, Altitude will air the Avs' home exhibition outing against the Wild, the final preseason game at Pepsi Center, on Sept. 28.
New play-by-play announcer Conor McGahey will make his preseason radio debut on Tuesday on FM 92.5, the new home of Altitude Sports Radio. All six exhibition games can be heard on FM 92.5.
