Avalanche prospect Kelsey Tessier continues to tear up the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s postseason, helping to stake his Moncton Wildcats squad to a 2-0 lead over the Saint John Sea Dogs in the QMJHL Finals.

Tessier notched two assists Friday in Game One of the series, a 5-1 Moncton victory. The center then scored a goal and added a helper Sunday in a 9-3 Wildcat triumph during Game Two.

Tessier, Colorado’s third selection (fourth round, 110th overall) in the 2008 Entry Draft, leads all QMJHL postseason scorers with 25 points (11g/14a) in 17 contests.

Game Three of the QMJHL President’s Cup Final is slated for Tuesday evening.

USHL
Nathan Condon and the Fargo Force have jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five USHL Clark Cup Finals matchup with the Green Bay Gamblers.

The forward posted a +1 plus/minus rating in Friday’s 2-0 shutout victory over the Gamblers and was held pointless in the Force’s 4-1 triumph Saturday in Game Two, with both contests taking place in Green Bay.

Condon has totaled five points (3g/2a) in 10 playoff games for Fargo.

The series now moves to Fargo’s home ice, where the Force can claim the title with a win Friday in Game Three.

Charlotte Checkers
Colorado’s ECHL affiliate was eliminated from the 2010 Kelly Cup Playoffs last week by the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Trailing in their American Conference Semifinal series, 3-2, Charlotte fought off elimination courtesy of a 3-0 home victory in Game Six last Tuesday. However, the Checkers were sent home following a 2-1 defeat the next night.
