The Rampage bounced back the next day and defeated the Moose 4-2 on Saturday. Rocco Grimaldi had the first goal of the night for San Antonio, with Felix Girard and Gabriel Bourque assisting. Manitoba then responded with a goal late in the first period to knot the contest going into the intermission. In the second stanza, Chris Bigras lit the lamp off a pass from Joe Whitney to advance the Rampage's lead to 2-1. The Moose found the back of the net to tie the game once again, but AJ Greer scored after taking passes from Mike Sislo and Mat Clark to give San Antonio a 3-2 advantage. Girard tallied the fourth goal late for the Rampage with an empty-netter while the team was shorthanded. Smith was in net for the Rampage and stopped 27 shots.
On Sunday night, San Antonio defeated the Rockford IceHogs 3-2 in a barn-burning overtime contest. The IceHogs took their first lead of the night in the first period, but the Rampage rallied in the second frame of play and scored twice to take the lead. Jim O'Brien netted a goal off a pass from Sislo to tie the game at 1-1, and then Gary Nunn tallied to give San Antonio the lead. However, the IceHogs responded 2:02 later to tie the match. The third period was scoreless, forcing both teams into overtime. Grimaldi lit the lamp with the game-winning goal, as he scored with 15 seconds left in extra time. Goaltender Kent Simpson contributed to the team's victory with 37 saves on the night.
